About us
I’m Emma Ray, I have loved teaching for over 30 years.
Hearing and Literacy was created to provide the missing link to the literacy puzzle for students who struggle to gain literacy skills in the classroom.
Based on the research – we read and write as we speak, this is a safe place to find solutions for children with diverse learning experiences including hearing loss.
I am a qualified Teacher of the Deaf and experienced literacy specialist using evidenced based techniques by hearing, seeing, doing.
I love seeing my students improve their literacy skills and develop confidence in reading and writing using multisensory learning.
I enjoy working with children of all ages and have worked with student K-12 in the classroom and in support roles.
Currently I live and work in northwest Sydney, Australia with my wonderful husband, two lovely girls and a very spoilt cat.
